    The Ijaw Nation Directory

A canonical mapping of indigenous Ijaw clans, towns, and dialects across the Niger Delta — with a separate chapter system for the urban and global diaspora.

Indigenous vs. Migrant — clarifying the viral map

Viral graphics sometimes list states like Abia, Imo, or Adamawa as 'Ijaw states'. Ijaws live nearly everywhere thanks to centuries of fishing and trade migration, but they hold ancestral tribal stools and indigenous land rights only in Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Ondo, Edo, and (along the southeastern fringe) Akwa Ibom. Everywhere else is a chapter — not a homeland.

Amanyanabo / Pere Domains. States with traditional Ijaw ruling stools. Members register here under their ancestral clan and town.
